5 Secrets For Healthy Fast Food Options

Traveling for work can provide many different scenarios for eating out, and sometimes grabbing something fast is a necessity. I’d like to share some tools you can resort to if you’re in a pinch and have to grab your food fast without sacrificing your waistline.

Secret #1: (The Most Obvious): Order the grilled options, salads, or try ordering a smaller portion size (3 tenders instead of 4 or 5).

Secret #2: Think Differently. Expand Your Options. Search for build-a-bowl, build a salad or poke bowl types of places.

Secret #3: Try a grocery store. Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, and other grocery stores have many quick options for fast lunches. Begin to identify new places to add to your mind when you need to move quickly.

Secret #4: Plan ahead. If you’ve already picked your options, it’s easier to move quickly. Look ahead at menus and already have what you want to order in mind. Also, if you know where you’re going to be, you can research some of the ideas above ahead of time and build in a stop along your route.

Secret #5: Set Boundaries. What if you give yourself more time vs packing your schedule so tightly? I know every situation is unique; however, if your health is suffering from frequent fast food choices, it may be time to evaluate!

Keep your thoughts in check. Remember, Focus on being 1% better every day. You won’t master this all in one day. Continue to grow as you go and this will become second nature for you.
